Italy is now holding the record for having the deepest pool for scuba diving in the world after being certified by Guinness Book of Record last June. Y-40 Deep Joy, the world's deepest pool is 137ft. deep and 59ft. wide. It is housed on the grounds Hotel Terme Millepini in Montegrotto Terme, a small town in Italy.
The pool as deep as a 12-14 storey building was designed by Architect Emanuele Boaretto. It is heated at a temperature of 32C makes it comfortable for divers.It was designed to have several intermediate depths ranging from 4-feet to 40-feet deep, underwater caves and a transparent tunnel 16 ft. down for visitors to have a look on what's going on below.
The pool is used for scuba diving, free dive, aqua fitness programs, photo shoots and scientific researches.
