"Deep Blue", Largest Shark Ever Filmed By Conservation Group |
The video of apparently the world's largest shark ever filmed has attracted million of viewers on social media after it was uploaded on Facebook by Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, director of Pelagios Kakunja who filmed the shark. Pelagios Kakunja is a conservation group based in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
According to the group, the Great White Shark which they nicknamed "Deep Blue" is estimated to be 50 years of age and 20 feet long. It was spotted near Isla Guadalupe, off the coast of Mexico, as noted by Padilla on Facebook. Researchers also believe that the giant shark is pregnant which caused her to swim closer to the shore, a typical habit of sharks when they are about to give birth.
In can be seen on the video that the enormous shark was swimming together with smaller fishes and seems to be undisturbed with the observers' cages.
