Breaking News: Cosmic Ray Radiation Alarm, True or False?

Manila, Philippines - A few weeks ago, a hoax news and text messages saying that there will be a high cosmic radiation on Earth is circulating again on social media and mobiles text messages.  The message spreading says that people must turn off their devices on September 19, 10:00 pm to 3:00 am and that the alarm is from NASA and BBC. The message also says that they must spread the alarm to their love ones.

This is to informed that people shouldn't be alarmed because all of this is a hoax and neither NASA nor BBC confirm that there will be a high cosmic radiation on those hours.

What is cosmic radiation anyway? Is it dangerous?

When people speak simply of 'cosmic radiation' they are usually referring specifically to the cosmic microwave background radiation. There are also very old remnant neutrinos in the cosmic radiation. Neutrinos pass through just about everything with no effect so they are harmless.
